I am based in Atlanta, GA, USA.
I started my career in a variety of customer service roles, including cashier, lifeguard, and water safety instructor. These experiences helped me develop a strong sense of empathy for others, which I carried into my next role as a K12 social studies teacher. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology to support this career, but I continued to pursue education and eventually earned a Master's degree in Instructional Technology and Design to support training and teaching adults, as well as a Master's degree in Criminal Justice Administration for my potential interest in supporting students in a different capacity.
After leaving the classroom, I discovered my passion for user experience (UX) design and research. I have completed several courses and apprenticeships to upskill in this field, and I am now looking to become a UX Researcher. I enjoy learning about people's motivations and challenges, and I want to use this knowledge to create more user-friendly products and experiences. My value lies in my ability to empathize with others and understand their needs.
Throughout my career, I have always been drawn to roles where I can help people, whether it's teaching, customer service, or UX design. I believe that my background in education, combined with my design and research skills, makes me uniquely qualified to create products that are both user-friendly and effective. I am excited to continue growing in this field and making a positive impact on people's lives.
Also, I really like to travel, especially to places with Mediterranean or Caribbean-type climates. I enjoy saltwater fishing as well, primarily from a boat. I love to read historical fiction, crime, chick-lit, and young adult.
